Protection by laminated glasses

Protection against falling objects (roof glazing and conservatories)

Glass used in roof/façade glazing must meet certain requirements in terms of safety, increased thermal insulation, sun protection, etc. As a laminated glass installed inside the insulating glass unit, it ensures human safety.

When an object hits a glazed roof, then laminated glass will prevent the object and glass from falling inside. You and your loved ones are safe.

In addition, SGG STADIP SILENCE glass helps suppress annoying sounds of rain and hail that fall on roof window panes.

Protection against glass injury

All glasses included in the SGG STADIP range are so-called safety glasses. When a pane breaks, its fragments will remain glued to the film. This solution significantly reduces risk of injury by people that are in the room during an incident.

Noise protection

SGG STADIP SILENCE laminated safety glass is to prevent against annoying noises. PVB Silence film placed between two panes effectively suppresses noise coming from the outside, so you can sleep and work peacefully.

Fallout protection

Accurate dimensioning, proper installation as well as selection of brackets in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements make SGG STADIP PROTECT glass, which is a part of the SGG STADIP PROTECT range, stable when a glass is broken; it prevents persons from falling down.

Protection against acts of vandalism and burglary

Laminated safety glasses that are part of the SGG STADIP range increase safety of property and its residents. Glass installed in a suitable joinery discourages burglars and makes property theft more difficult. Depending on a selected option, the panes are resistant to breaking up through throwing or hitting an object. In case of theft or burglary, it gives time to raise the alarm. Minor burglaries and acts of vandalism without use of tools are often associated with breaking up the glass by pressing smaller or larger objects, with more or less force. Thrown objects and forces, which are described in EN 356, simulate acts of aggression to which glazed surfaces can be exposed. SGG STADIP PROTECT glasses, to which this standard refers, provide varying levels of protection against such acts of aggression. Risk significance and requirements specified in the regulations determine level of protection and thus the type of SGG STADIP glass to be used. Choosing a suitable glass is related to type and value of protected property, type of building (e.g. easy access, single or multi-family building) and its location (e.g. detached house, located in a high-risk district). A risk assessment should be made for each project, taking into account possible requirements of insurance companies.
